Greetings Marlins!

Wow, another summer has quickly flown by and once again it’s time to prepare for an exciting school year. And speaking of time flying, it is amazing that this year we will celebrate Monteleone Junior High’s fifth year! There will be plenty of special commemorations and observances throughout the year, especially during the upcoming Monteleone Magic.

I would like to welcome incoming 7th graders and welcome back our 8th graders. I challenge both classes to live up to the high expectations of LMJH. The result will be a wonderful, fun year filled with learning.

One thing of note this year will be a change in the school-level PBS reward system. Teachers will recognize good behavior daily by placing students’ names on a “marlin card” and, after a parent signs the card, placing it into a classroom fish bowl. A weekly drawing from the names will identify prize recipients.

Of course, we will continue award and recognition programs such as “caught ya cards,” special assemblies, Marlin of the Month and random campus blitzes and quizzes. Hint: It’s never too early to begin remembering rules for specific areas on campus.

As always, we welcome parents and members of the community to get involved at LMJH in a variety of ways. As “stakeholders,” we welcome your input and help. You may contact the school at any time to ask questions and find out how to get involved.
